In the beginning of 50's german Karl Meier founded a company named Kamei, producing mainly comfort accessories for cars. The company was situated in Wolfsburg, and that's why most of items produced by Kamei are for Volkswagens. Kamei factory at Wolsburg

Kamei Aerofix front wing (1952-)
One of the most expensive Kamei items today is Aerofix front wing. The spoiler was developed by Karl Meier in Wolfsburg in the early 50´s. In the 40´s he worked at the VW company where not only cars but also a lot of other things like for example aeroplane wings where produced.
He got the idea of the spoiler and the shape was developed for him by a aircraft engeneer in 1950 wich he knew from his days at the vw company. Because he had not the possibility to produce them by himself he decided to get it produced under licence by Phillip Roth in Stuttgard, later known as the Perohaus company. As I was told by Mr. Meier-Andrae ( the son of Karl Meier ) where only around 40 of them produced in 1952 / 53. Because the customers echo was very less the production was stopped soon. Even the VW company wasn´t a fan of that thing, they said the car would be to slow for a spoiler (and they didn´t like any developement at their car anyway). Only three of those exists today.
