Vintage Radios

I placed these radios, under heading "Sapphire", although it is not company's name. The American Sapphire radios were made as follow: The Sapphire I Am radio with large channel selector buttons was made 1960 by Bendix, as the 1962 Sapphire II Am/Fm radio. In 1963 Sapphire radios got a new appearance with a change to the more familiar 3/8 inch high by 5/8 wide buttons. originally made by Bendix, and later, after 1963, by Motorola. In 1964 both Motorola and Bendix manufactured the I for VWoA. The main difference is in the insides; the PCB and tuner are different between the two. Bendix alone made the II in '64 as well as in '65. In 1966 the Sapphire III AM was introduced, again manufactured by both companies. The IV AM/FM was made by Bendix for 1966. The Sapphire V 12V AM was made by both Bendix and Motorola for 1967 and Bendix made the VI AM/FM 12 V. Again both companies made the Sapphire AMs in '68
